daring: 面对危险不害怕的;在令人恐惧的情形下也无所畏惧的。
protest: 抗议。
undaunted: (尽管情势危险或障碍重重仍)无所畏惧的，大胆的，勇敢的。
venturesome: 爱冒险的，大胆的，鲁莽的。

have ice in one’s veins: 字面意思是说在某人的血管里有冰雪。这个短语用来形容某人冷酷无情，或者个性强硬，仿佛血管里充满的是冷冰冰的冰雪，而不是温暖的血液。
get nervous: (变得)紧张。
no matter: 无论;不管;不论如何。
as cool as a cucumber: 形容人是极其镇定的，非常冷静的，情绪不会受到周围环境的影响。cucumber，黄瓜。黄瓜在西方通常是冷吃的蔬菜，并且由于它的颜色是冷色调的绿色，因此cucumber被用来形容冷酷、镇定的性格。
