"布朗尼加分"口语课堂:面对现实吧
今天我们要说的是“面对现实”的一个表达法。“面对”大家都知道可以选用动词face，那么，“现实”呢？您会选择哪个词来和face搭配呢？是 truth，或者reality? 不晓得您能不能想到music这个搭配，Face the music，是“面对音乐”吗？
我们先来看一个小对话。
A：I have decided to quit my job. 我决定辞职了。
B：You wanna change a job or just quit and do nothing? 你打算换个工作还是就辞职什么都不干了？
A：You know, traveling around the world is always my dream. I wanna do it right now. 你知道，环游世界一直是我的梦想。我想现在就去实现。
B：What about the money problem? I don’t think it’s the right time to do that. 钱的问题怎么解决。我认为现在可不是你实现梦想的时候。
A：I’ll figure out how. 我能想出解决办法的。
B：You make your own choice and you’re the one to face the music. 你自己做决定，也自己承担一切后果吧。
对话中的Face the music, 是一个习惯表达法，意思是“面对现实；接受惩罚”。我们再来看几个例子。
Success faces the music, failure scared by taking consequence. 成功者勇于承担责任；失败者害怕承担责任。
You’d better tell your parents what happened and face the music. 你最好告诉你父母发生了什么，然后面对后果。
We must stand together and face the music. 我们必须联合起来共同面对这个事实。
