英语口语培训：食物变坏的几种说法

如果想表达“食物坏了”，一般有以下几种表达：
1. Spoil 变质了
例句：
The cake will spoil if the temperature above 20℃.
这个蛋糕在温度在20摄氏度以上时，会变质。
2. Go off
例句：
The milk has gone off.
牛奶变质了。
3. Go bad
例句：
The food has gone bad; don't eat it.
这食物已经坏了，别吃了。
“变酸了”英语怎么说?
想表达食物“变酸了”，可以用：Turn sour。变馊了的英文也是这个。
例句：
Do not drink the bottle of milk, because it has turned sour.
别喝这瓶牛奶，因为它已经变酸了。
“发霉”英语怎么说?
“发霉”的英语表达是：Mildew。
例句：
The grain is liable to mildew when the humidity in the barn is too high.
仓库里潮气太大，粮食就容易发霉。
Things easily get mildewed in the rainy season.
梅雨季节东西容易发霉。
“食品过期”英语怎么说?
“食品过期”的英语表达是：Expired food。
例句：
Do not eat expired food.
不要吃过期的食物。
顺便说一下“保质期”的表达，有三种表达方式：
①use-by date
②best-before date
③expiration date
这个三个表达之间的区别：
Expiration dates tell consumers the last day a product is safe to consume. Best before date on the other hand tells you that the food is no longer in its perfect shape from that date. It may just lose its freshness, taste, aroma or nutrients.
Expiration dates告诉消费者产品可以安全食用的最后一天。Best before date告诉你食物从那个日期起就不再处于最佳食用期了。
It does not necessarily mean that the food is no longer safe to eat. Best before date is basically a quality indicator.
它可能会失去它的新鲜，味道，香气或营养。这并不一定意味着食物不再安全。Best before date基本上是一个质量指标。
Another term that gets mixed up with this is the use by date which applies only to perishable goods such as fresh fish or meat. Dispose them off immediately once they have passed the use by date.
